sines: A BRAIN WAVE AND SOUND ART HACKATHON
SINES was a hackathon bringing together international sound artists and neuroscientists in collaboration with Imperial College London & Music Hackspace. Over the course of a weekend, teams worked together to produce soundspaces using MEG data from volunteers taking LSD in a landmark scientific study by Robin Carhart-Harris.
The legacy of SINES lives on. You can listen to all the tracks produced on soundcloud. One team who met at the event went on to begin their own group and have success at hacks in Science Gallery Dublin, and have produced music and art. You can read more about them at Senscapes. This is my favourite and last AXNS Project I worked upon, and I am so happy that it continues to make (sound) waves.
SINES was a project with AXNS Collective. You can learn more on the AXNS Website.
